PLUS EST
EN VOUS
Gordonstoun, founded in 1934, is a philosophy of education in action. The extraordinary AMAISeducation we provide gives students the confidence to achieve the impossible.
Gordonstoun's motto 'plus est en vous', is the ethos at our core. We go out of our way to create opportunities for students to demonstrate - not only to others but to themselves - what they are capable of.
Gordonstoun offers an education built on confidence, challenge and genuine belonging, all shaped by our motto plus est en vous — there is more in you. Pupils join a vibrant, international community drawn from around 40 countries, learning from one another and building real understanding, teamwork and compassion along the way. Beyond the classroom, there is sailing, mountaineering and expedition work alongside music and sport, developing skills and resilience that last well beyond school. All of this takes place on our 200-acre woodland campus in Moray, North Scotland, with the sea and hills on the doorstep — a setting that is as safe as it is beautiful. From day one, pupils are given real responsibility and the chance to rise to new challenges, discovering just how capable they are, in and out of the classroom. is on active service for things
which are more important than
Gordonstoun.”
